Traditional Easter Roasts and Sides, Easy Recipes to Make Your Meal Special

Dear Reader,

It's just two weeks before we get to prep an Easter celebration. Today, I want to share some traditional recipes that everyone loves for Easter. I've got main dishes and sides that will have your mouth watering just thinking about them.

Don't worry though. With the ever-rising price of groceries, I know that full traditional Easter dinners are going to put a crimp in the grocery budget. So, I'm saving next week for some not-as-traditional options that will still be deliciously celebratory and maybe a little more affordable than the typical Sunday roast. We'll also look at appetizers and desserts next week.

So today, let's prep for a traditional Easter dinner! The easiest way is to choose your protein and build the rest of the meal around that.

Baked Ham with Cranberry Glaze

In the United States, there's nothing more traditional than an Easter ham. This easy ham roast is made using a bone-in ham and it's roasted in the oven. You guys! It's so delicious. One of the best I've ever had.

Perfect Easter Side Dishes

Next to juicy, tender roasted main dishes, traditional Easter meals are loaded with complementary sides. Whether you love savory, tangy or sweet, cheesy, creamy or buttery, there are perfect sides to pair with any entree you decide to serve.

I hope you'll find some perfect dishes in this list of traditional Easter dinner dishes. They're easy and delicious and will help to make your Easter meal something special.

Next week we'll get into some non-traditional but delicious and affordable main dishes, plus appetizers and desserts.

Have a wonderfully blessed week! I hope you get to share a meal with the people you love most (and that someone else does the dishes!) Hugs friend!

  • These Vintage Hobnail Drinking Glasses make every table I set seem like it's a holiday celebration. They're sturdy, easy to grip, and absolutely stunning on the dinner table.
  • I love these White Oval Serving Bowls. The colors of your salads and sides pop and bring life to your dinner table in these simple but pretty bowls. They come as a set of four, so it's easy to create a lovely tablescape.
  • I always use Cloth Napkins at our dinner table. They're so easy to wash and use again. I have lots of patterns and colors to choose from for any occasion. These I'm sharing today are my Easter ones. I prefer fabric napkins because I only buy them once and can use them over and over again. I've had mine for years. Some of my everyday patterns are so old they aren't even for sale anymore, but you'll see them in pictures around the blog. Do a little research and find ones you love. They'll serve you for a very long time.
  • Sweese Low Side Bowls/ Plates show up in lots of pictures around the blog. That's because they are some of my favorite serving pieces. Whether it's pasta, big salads, soups or just an everyday casserole with oozy sauce, these low side bowls/plates are perfect for enjoying a meal without messes. They come in two sizes, and I have three sets — one in the blues (cool colors) and two are white.
  • 7 qt. Crock Pot - I have multiple slow cookers, but my reach-for-it-first favorite gets used at least once a week and usually more. It's the most basic manual Crock Pot available, and I love it the most. It's the easiest way to cook Mississippi Pot Roast, delectable Ham, easy Meatloaf and more.
  • My Deep Dish 9x13 Ceramic Baking Pan is perfect for casseroles, Magic Cookie Bars, cakes and more.
  • 12 qt. Stainless Steel Stock Pot with Lid - This is my soup, stew and chili go-to pot. And it's the one I reach for when making mashed potatoes for a gathering. Plenty of room for making large batches.
